Women at the Well Celebrates 10 Years

Women at the Well Celebrates 10 Years

The Women at the Well – Gambia Chapter – celebrates its 10th year anniversary on March 1, 2013.  This discipleship ministry was birthed with a vision to make disciples through the exhortation of God’s word, to encourage body ministry through caring, sharing, and fellowship, and to create a spiritual environment that promotes growth in holiness and maturity. Its’ founder, Mother Neneh Galleh (also known as Evangelist Rhudine Poole) settled in The Gambia in the Year 2000 as a Missionary.  Being led by the Spirit of God, she gathered Christian women in The Gambia together for the first session sharing the topic:  “Talk is Cheap”.  There were five Nationalities and several Denominations represented at this inaugural meeting.

The Well in The Gambia grew in number, and witnessed changed lives and a deeper hunger for God’s word in those who came to “take a drink”.

In 2006, Mother Neneh returned to the USA, leaving the Women at the Well in the capable hands of Sis. Lloyda Beckley, the one chosen of the Lord to carry on the ministry.  (Shown here in the pink)

In 2007, Mother Neneh returned with a team of Americans to help present the first Women at the Well Conference held at the WEC Compound.  It was a well- coordinated effort by the Women at the Well and women from America.  All who attended were impressed and blessed.  From this time, more women took interest in the Well and it continued to grow.

By the grace  and timing of God, Auntie Lloyda released the Women at the Well in order to move and settle in America with her family.  This time, the Holy Spirit chose Bertha Bobson-Sesay (pictured below left) to carry the leadership mantel for this ministry from 2011 to this present time. The Women at the Well are an outstanding, serious group of women who love God and strive to do all things with excellence.  They participate annually with the Women’s World Day of Prayer activities and connect with other Women’s Ministries from time to time.  The 9th Anniversary celebration was held in June 2012 under the leadership of Auntie Bertha who has led them with grace and truth and integrity.  Mother Neneh Galleh was the keynote speaker and also coordinator of the Celebration Banquet that was held in July 2012.

We join our hearts in thanking God for ten years of ministering to women and pray for more Wells to be planted in various places around the world.  Women at the Well is a component of Watthew Ministries International, Inc.  Missionary/Evangelist Rhudine M.
